Recommendations and Endorsements:

  • What is the #VOTEPROCHOICE Voter Guide?

    • The #VOTEPROCHOICE Voter Guides includes every race on the ballot, highlighting #VOTEPROCHOICE endorsed Prochoice Champion candidates . The guide also aggregates endorsements from our partner organizations with an emphasis on reproductive rights and reproductive justice — NARAL Pro-Choice America, EMILY’s List, Run for Something, Blue America, The Collective PAC, Democracy for America, MoveOn and more. We’ve also included antichoice organizations like Right To Life and NRA endorsements to provide critical transparency of the candidate’s position.

  • How does #VOTEPROCHOICE decide who to endorse?

    • #VOTEPROCHOICE endorses a select cohort of Prochoice Champions who have pledged deep commitment to reproductive freedom, shown excellence in pursuit of justice, and are in strategic races nationwide. There is an in-depth process involving application, interview, and contextual research.

  • How does #VOTEPROCHOICE decide who to recommend?

    • We analyze each race based on reproductive rights, economic justice, LGBTQ rights, racial justice, and immigrant justice. We also contact candidates with an opportunity to apply for our recommendation if they desire special consideration. We also solicit suggestions from voters - there's a contact form on the Voter Guide page and on our website.

  • This candidate is prochoice. Why isn't there a check mark next to their name?

    • The recommendation does not indicate the only prochoice candidate - in the vast majority of cases, we choose one candidate per race, just like a voter has to on their own ballot. It is also possible that we haven’t been able to find enough information to make a recommendation - in this case, we greatly appreciate suggestions to make the Voter Guide more comprehensive. Often, if the incumbent is good on these issues, we will recommend them. However, we also contact candidates with an opportunity to apply for our recommendation if they desire special consideration. • Why isn't anyone recommended in this race?

    • There are a few reasons why there may not be a #VPC Recommendation in a particular race. In some cases, none of the candidates are prochoice. It is also possible that we haven’t been able to find enough information to make a recommendation - however, we greatly appreciate suggestions to make the Voter Guide more comprehensive.
